Great congrats to my buddy and student, Josh Whitehouse ! HBO has set him to a lead role in HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel pilot from writer Jane Goldman and author/GOT co-executive producer George R.R. Martin that has Naomi Watts heading a fast-forming ensemble cast.
I coached Josh on the film Valley Girl the musical… opening soon. So thrilled for Josh and so well deserved!

It’s been really exciting summer so far:
I’m enjoying working with Chan Tatum on a new animated feature called SMALL FOOT. The two songs Chan is singing are catchy and delightful and of course Chan is great fun to work with.
I’ve just returned from New York having been flown there to write a song parody for the Gloria Allred Friars Roast, sung by good friend and student, Lauren Frost. She knocked it out of the park and it was a star studded and hilarious evening.
The next night, I went to see my student and BFF, Erich Bergen making his Broadway debut in WAITRESS as Dr. Pomatter. Erich was amazing in this role– hilarious, so comedically inventive, sounding great and giving a very moving performance.
New VOICE GYM dates will be announced next week as week as Master Class Workshop in Portland and Chicago in the Fall.

I’m thrilled that our new musical “EVERYTHING ” (formerly “SING!”) is moving forward with director Brady Schwind , choreographer Nick Kenkel, (pictured below). Also thrilled to have Music Director Todd Schroeder, all working with Franne Golde and I with the intention of doing a 3 week Los Angeles Workshop in the early Fall. Working with this team is inspiring, fun, moving and “EVERYTHING” promises to be a unique, original musical with a hit score by ten composers including Franne and I, Brenda Russell, Ferras, Richard Kerr, Stephen Bray, Ari Hest et al. Stay tuned.
I’m also looking forward to my new VOICE GYM beginning April 23rd thru May 14th. A new audition book and video of two best songs in 5 weeks! Brent Crayon will be our accompanist. Well, 2018 is just roaring along.. fast than a speeding bullet.
Its been exciting working on Steven Spielberg’s WEST SIDE STORY remake. So many clients submitting for Tony, Maria, Anita and Bernardo. Its great to work on that brilliant music.. appreciating this score more than ever!
And, as always, it;’s a great pleasure working with Elle Fanning on her new Tiffany commercial. Its pretty spectacular and her voicing of MOON RIVER is going to be exquisite.
I’m also loving working on our new musical, “LIMELIGHT”. in preparation for a workshop in late Spring. rah
This score is pretty spectacular co-written by ten Grammy Award wining composers.. I couldn’t be more excited!
